Shashah Review
A psychological thriller based on a short story written by Joe Hill, directed by Scott Derrickson, the director of the great movies: Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Doctor Strange.
The beginning of the movie and the events that built the story's axes are good, the editing and shooting are excellent, and the soundtrack added a distinct feeling of tension, which will make you eagerly follow what will happen.
Of course, the director's professional touch was visible throughout the movie, both in terms of visual or audio experience, but the story was not at the level of directing, as many events suffered from haste and lack of explanations and were not clarified enough, so the movie came as a part of the story and not the whole story.
The acting from Ethan Hawke was absolutely creative which is really what you should expect from the horror side of this movie, and the acting from the young actors was very good and convincing especially the child Mason Thames and Madeline McGraw.
Overall, a good psychological thriller horror movie, but don't expect much from the story, suitable for fans of mysterious serial killer movies.
