Shashah Review

As we are used to from the actress Nelly Karim her keenness to participate in series that contain thorny societal issues that women suffer from in particular, and this series is not an exception from her previous choices.

As it is a purposeful social drama in which Ibrahim Issa, in his first experience in writing for television, discusses the issue of women and personal status law in particular, and many social issues in general.

Excellent attention to the small details that appear in the clothes, hair and decorations, with realism away from exaggeration and pretentiousness, and a legendary performance from the actress Nelly Karim.

The story narration is good, as we learn about the causes of divorce through “Flashback” scenes at the beginning of each episode.

However the direct presentation of issues, the ever-hot tone, the modesty of the characters' construction that lacks few details,  contributed to somewhat weakening the level of the series.

A series with many ingredients for success fell into the trap of repetition, but this does not prevent it from being an important bold social series that aspires to make change.
